在電線的絕緣膠皮除印上 xx AWG 外，有時你還會看到 UL xxxxx 的號碼，這是說明這條電線是根據 UL 規格所製造，當然有的是假冒！印上 AWM 字的電線是工廠安裝或由工廠提供的元件，使用於提交檢驗的完整設備中，而不是在現場直接單獨安裝。此類元件的最終驗收取決於提交給 UL 的最終設備。
